I've been listening to music by an awesome metal band known as Mastodon (check'm out!)
specificially, their second album: Leviathan, which has a theme based off of Moby Dick - so of course the artwork on this album has themes of seamonsters, sea mythology, whales and whatnot and also the names of songs on their album also relate to their theme, like: "Megalodon" "Seabeast" "I Am Ahab" "Iron Tusk" you get the point. (not to mention their name is beastly in itself-Mastodon-giant exctinct wooly mammoth beast). So...after listening to the music and gushing over the awesome album art and CD art I just HAD to paint something that showed ma love for them and this is the product.
I was going for a beastly tyrannosaurus-boar cross and I was orogionally going to give it octopus-like tentacles but I figured it looked awesome just as it was.

and yes-I stole "Seabeast" from their song by the same name, shoot me.
